AET was pleased to be one of the exhibitor at CTBUH 2016, which is a five-days conference will take place progressively across three major cities; Shenzhen, Guangzhou and Hong Kong from October 16 – 21, 2016. Over 1,350 delegates participated the conference. With three sessions of 11 simultaneous tracks on a variety of topics related to the megacities theme. Some presentations taking a closer at specific Asian megacities, and projects within them, to illustrate the growing emergency of the megacity phenomenon. A number of speakers took a focused look at the future of our cities, focusing on the trends set to transform cities and skyscrapers through technical integration and automation.
Delegates attended the networking reception after the conference and everyone enjoy the drinks, music and night view of the cities.
On Day Three, off-site programs spread across the city offered delegates the opportunity to experience Guangzhou’s unique urban habitat while investigating the touring its most note-worthy developments. Then delegates reconvened at Guangzhou CTF Finance Centre for the remaining afternoon program, which focused on case studies in urban planning and design both in Guangzhou and elsewhere.
All delegates left early on Day Four morning from Guangzhou and Shenzhen to Hong Kong. Three in-depth presentations on Hong Kong’s development history anchored the first afternoon session, held in the Sky100 observation space of the International Commerce Centre.
Attendees to the ICC networking reception returned to the Sky100 Observation Space, which was transformed from a forum for discussion into a supreme event space.
Unfortunately, No. 8 Gale Signal was issued on Day 5 in Hong Kong due to the typhoon Haima. Under this signal, the Council was forced to cancel all conference activities for the day.
